Empowered Through Play: Internship Programs
The internship program with Empowered Through Play is located is located in beautiful Coeur d’Alene Idaho. Empowered Through Play offers year-round (spring, summer, fall, winter) internships. Unlike other internship agencies, you’ll have complete control over the clients you wish to work with, the hours you’d like to work, and the populations of clients that you want to work with. Our experienced supervisor uses evidence-based techniques to help you cultivate gratitude, resilience, and optimism, and improve your overall knowledge of all aspects of interest guided toward your college program guidelines.
Our mission, goals, and objectives:
Today is a critical time in history for us to educate the public about the science of psychology. Supervision under our Licensed Clinical Supervisor and our Registered Play Therapist Supervisor is for students who are passionate about helping others and applying psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people’s lives. Our internship program will allow students to develop applicable knowledge and skills, build an understanding of non-traditional career paths in psychology (such as play therapy), and learn about various dynamics of counseling, such as: comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, treatment planning, various treatment modalities, and work with a wide variety of individuals while using play and other interventions to help clients alleviate issues of distress.
What you will learn:
Interns will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of activities within the office that will apply theoretical knowledge to practice and foster a better understanding of a workplace environment in professional psychology. Interns will report directly to their supervisor for daily tasks and support for overall learning objectives. Interns may also attend workshops, discussions, participate in group projects, or other various tasks.
